An amplifier is an electronic device that increases the voltage, current, or power of a signal. It is a two-port electronic circuit. They can be categorized as either weak-signal amplifiers or power amplifiers. The amount of amplification provided by an amplifier is measured by its gain: the ratio of output voltage, current, or power to input. An amplifier is a circuit that has a power gain greater than one.....................
So know we will understand how an amplifier works??
An amplifier takes an input signal from a source, such as a laptop, turntable or CD player, and creates a larger copy of the original signal before it's sent to the speakers.
- An amplifier is a device used for the amplification of the signals, it improves the strength of the signal without altering the shape of the signal.
- First of all we will understand what is an amplifier, so we all use sound system at our home or we know about DJ so we sometimes gets amazed that how could the sound may louder enough & it is the point where an amplifier comes into picture.
- The amplifier principle is to generate an output signal that is a replica of the input signal with an increased higher magnitude.
- The ampere, symbol A, is the SI unit of electric current. It is defined by taking the fixed numerical value of the elementary charge e to be 1.602 176 634 x 10–19 when expressed in the unit C, which is equal to A s, where the second is defined in terms of ΔνCs.
- An amplifier is a part of the circuit that increases the input signal strength.
- There are many forms of electronic circuits classed as amplifiers, from Operational Amplifiers and Small Signal Amplifiers up to Large Signal and Power Amplifiers.
- There are two combinations: solid-state pre-amp (signal input amplification) plus tube power amp (signal output amplification), or tube pre-amp plus solid-state power output amp.
Amplifiers are subdivided into various categories
1. Small signal amplifiers or voltage amplifiers
- These are basically used for the amplification of small input signal. These amplifiers increase the voltage level of the applied input signal and generate at the output.
2. Large signal amplifiers or Power amplifiers
- These are the amplifiers that produce a large signal at the output by converting dc power into ac power. Power transistors are basically employed in power amplifiers.
So these are about the amplifiers we use to play audio in our TVs and other audio devices here note down that Instrument amplifiers are a range of audio power amplifiers used to increase the sound level of musical instruments, for example guitars, during performances.
