History is one of the main subjects for competitive exams therefore it is necessary to study these subject completely. So in this article we will discuss about syllabus and study material as well as strategy plan for MPSC & UPSC………………………….

 

Bhartacha Itihas MPSC

Basically MPSC contains about 9 subjects i.e. Marathi, English, history, geography, general science, economics, polity, ecology, general awareness. All of these subjects are compulsory to study for both exams of MPSC i.e. Prelims & Mains. So this is very important to study with mindfulness. Now we will see what the history syllabus is and what the main topics of history are. And important topics should study to prepare for MPSC.

 

History for this exam is divided into 3 sub division as follows:

1. Ancient History

2. Medieval History

3. Modern History

Also we must study history of both Indian history as well as world history. Above mentioned 3 types are belongs to Indian history only.

Now we will see what we must study in sub divisions of history,

1) Ancient History:

In case of Indian ancient history it is considered from Indus valley civilization and coming of Aryans. Ancient Indian history is divided into two sub types,

 

a) Pre-Vedic Period

b) Vedic Period


Now Pre-Vedic period is Indus Valley Civilizations. Pre Vedic history has no written history, but there are a lot of archeological discoveries which are proofs of these civilizations. Indus Valley Civilization is started from the settlement of people who used to make tools out of wood and stones, and know agriculture techniques. By the time of urban civilization they also started trading with other civilization at that time. It is considered that pre Vedic period is from 2800 BC to 1800 BC.

Main sites of Indus valley civilization are Harappa & Mohenjo-Daro.

 

Vedic period is the period during Vedas are written. And also Indian culture is developed during this period. During Vedic period for important Vedas of Hinduism are written i.e. Rig Veda, Sam Veda, Yajurveda & Atharav Veda. Also two biggest books of Hinduism which are Mahabharata & Ramayana are written during this time.

If we consider ancient history in case of world history then it is considered from 3000 BC 500 AD. This time is from the begging of writing and human history.

2) Medieval History

Medieval Indian history is only asked in MPSC therefore we need only to study medieval Indian history. Now medieval Indian history is starts from the rise of Mughals in India and ends by the end of end of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The time of this era is from 5th century to 15th century.

 

Medieval History is the most complicated part of history subject for MPSC. Because this portion is not totally about a timeline but it is about various kingdoms and empires which are co-existed simultaneously in India.

3) Modern Indian History

Modern Indian history is all about the Indian struggle of freedom and conflicts between various local princely states in India. Modern Indian and Maharashtra history is most important part of this subject for MPSC preparation. Therefore it must be studied completely to score more marks.
